These are specifically made to order to suit the crucible size There can be a 2 to 4 week wait due to the workload at the time of order. (Contact us for price of other sizes)
They are designed to slip over the bottom of the crucible and stop just before the widest point ensuring that the crucible does not slip through. For larger size crucibles a lockng mechanism is employed to prevent the crucible sliping out when the pouring hoop is inverted to empty its contents and allow any dross residues to be removed.
Larger sizes may also include a combined splash guard and heat shield to protect the hand closest to the crucible which acts as the fulcrum. Like all foundry tools they should be preheated to drive off moisture and prevent chilling of the crucible.
The handle is long with a T piece to allow for leverage and torqe when pouring. The use of full Personal safety equipment is essential when used.
Dependant upon user strength and safety issues dual ended versions are available. These are usually for the larger crucibles.
