All orders are shipped (DDU) Delivered Duty Unpaid and means the receiver/customer will get contacted by customs once their shipment arrives, and will have to settle any charges in order for customs to release the shipment and have it delivered.

Please note there is a 5 to 6 week waiting list from placing Furnace and Tong orders until their dispatch due to demand. Store closures periods do not count as part of this wait time.

Borax In Metallurgy

Borax Decahydrate has the ability to dissolve metal oxides and is exploited in the recovery of metals such as brass, copper, lead and zinc from scrap or smelting slag. In Iron metallurgy, Borax Decahydrate is used as a flux to prevent oxidation at the surface of the molten iron. In other metal working processes like welding, brazing, and soldering, Borax is used to cover the metal surfaces. This prevents any oxidation occuring by excluding air and moisture contact. It also can be used as a cleaning agent.
